Philosophy statement |
The seeds of today will bear
tomorrow’s fruit. Love and Mercy Family Day Care believes every child has the
right to grow up with the experience of being cared for with the love and
respect that they deserve. Love and Mercy aims to provide
childcare of the highest quality which allows every child to grow and develop
to the best of their physical, mental and emotional potential within a safe,
secure and comfortable family environment.
We aim to provide quality home based care which meets the Children's Services Regulations, Family Day Care Quality Standard and the Policies / Procedures of Family Day Care Services. We recognize that Family Day Care is a unique child care setting where Family Day Care Educators look after a small group of children in their own homes, providing a service which is able to meet the needs of each individual child and their family. All educators are provided with the support, training and workshops to further develop their knowledge, understanding and skills to uphold a professional Family Day Care Service. Our philosophy incorporates current understandings of the importance of Being, Becoming and Belonging and the Value of Play. We believe that each child, family, educator and staff person is unique and valuable individual and that their culture, customs, languages, values and beliefs should be respected. We help children develop a sense of belonging by creating an environment where they can build connections with peers, staff, community and their natural environment. We are committed to professional teamwork, and ongoing professional development to extend our skills and abilities. All staff value and respect one another and the contributions they make to create a cohesive team. We recognize our responsibility in ensuring and maintaining current workplace policies and procedures. We provide a learning environment where children learn and develop by exploring their world through stimulating and challenging play. We plan for children’s learning around their interests and their own specific needs, guided by the National Quality Standards, the Early Years Learning Framework and the School Aged Care learning Framework-My Time Our Place. This provides opportunities for children to reach their potential, in all areas of their development: physical health and wellbeing, social, emotional, language and cognitive, spiritual and holistic. |
