Introducing the National Quality Framework:
The National Quality Framework (NQF) is the result of an agreement between all Australian governments to work together to provide better educational and developmental outcomes for children using education and care services.
The NQF introduces a new quality standard to improve education and care across long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten, and outside school hours care.
The need for a national approach:
Quality education and care shapes every child’s future and lays the foundation for development and learning. The early years are critical for establishing self-esteem, resilience, healthy growth and capacity to learn.

august, september and october 2016:
During August, September and October 2016 we will be focusing on service improvement and management. We aim to do this by reviewing all feedback given to the service and take on suggestions, reviewing our service policy and procedure, asking for family feedback on our service, working on our quality improvement plan, planning educator meetings and workshops and reflecting on our quality improvement plan.
april, may, june and july 2016:
During April and May 2016 we will be running a educator qualified workshop and food and nutrition. The workshop is to help educators plan healthy food and drinks that are nutritious and appropriate to each child. This is a part of the unit of competency CHCECE004: Promote and provide healthy food and drinks. The workshop will be held in April and the educator weekly menu's will be followed up in May.
During June and July 2016, our focus to gather input, feedback and suggestions from our families. This is so they can have a suggestion about the service and provide any input for improvements. Our coordination unit loves working all together with educators and families as we value their thought and suggestions in to our service.

february and march 2016:
During February and March 2016, our focus is to make sure the physical environment of educator's home is safe for the business of Family Day Care by conducting our annual Home Safety and Hygiene Checklist. Our coordinators will also be taking photographs of each family day care educator home as evidence of safety and hygiene maintenance. Any urgent issues arisen will be followed up during the March support visits by our coordinators.
december 2015 and january 2016:
These 2 months, our focus is to build relationships with children and families in our office with our January school holiday play session visits. We are aiming to get each educator to do a play session visit in the office for the month of January as it is a school holidays. We are inviting families to come along to the play sessions and meet our coordination unit staff.
September, October and november 2015:
These 3 months, our focus is to build relationships with children and families in our office. We have aimed to achieve this by our September school holiday play session program and our new website launch which is www.loveandmercyfdc.com.
